SAN DIEGO, July 19, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the nation's largest healthcare staffing company, announced today that Paul E. Weaver has joined the company's Board of Directors, expanding the company's board membership from seven to eight. Mr. Weaver was also appointed a member of AMN Healthcare's Audit Committee and Corporate Governance Committee.

"Paul's extensive experience in the global business arena, his financial expertise, and proven leadership skills will be valuable in his role as a member of our Board of Directors," said Steven C. Mr. Weaver was previously global partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and chairman of the firm's global technology practice group, focusing on technology, infocomm, entertainment and media. With over 30 years of experience in leadership and governance roles within PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Weaver provided accounting, audit and business advisory services to several of the world's largest multinational companies. He also served as vice-chairman of the firm, based in New York, responsible for all firmwide revenue related activities.

Mr. Weaver currently serves on the boards of Gateway, Inc., the Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty Foundation and the corporate advisory board of the University of Michigan Business School. Mr. Weaver is licensed as a CPA and received a BS from Elizabethtown College and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

The company also announced today that Steven C. Francis, co-founder and director of AMN Healthcare, transitioned from his previous position as executive chairman to non-executive chairman.
